The Angel's Harp™ Method and Teacher Training

The Angel's Harp™ method is a curriculum designed to teach students and to develop harpists to play to the glory of God. Classical European harp technique, rich tone and subtleties of meaningful interpretation are taught through hymnody, classics appropriate for worship, and original compositions. Ear training, sightreading, sight singing, music theory, music history and improvisation are all integral components of The Angel's Harp™ methodology, so that each harpist develops into the most complete musician possible, thereby amplifying his or her ability to serve God with the harp.

The Angel's Harp™ method has been in continuous development for thirty years. Hundreds of students have been trained by Carol McClure using this method, including those who are now successful professional harpists.

The choice was made several years ago to begin training teachers handpicked by Carol McClure, so that more students may have access to her teaching experience and skill as a pedagogue. Teacher training is designed as an opportunity for continuing supervision of teachers, with the understanding that each teacher desires to be mentored so that his or her teaching technique is constantly being honed; thus he or she can be of greater service as a harp teacher.

Students throughout the United States benefit from their teachers' training and affiliation with The Harp School™. Each affiliated teacher's students are registered as students of The Harp School™, allowing them opportunities to join with students from around the conuntry in ensemble performances, master classes, and learning seminars designed to meet their needs and to further their progress at the harp.
